Magnus Sheffield of Hot Tubes retained his race lead of the Eurocycles Eurbaby Junior Tour after stage two which took the competitors from Ennis to Kilkee in County Clare. Admittedly the pace from the off was fast and furious, with small breakaway groups forming at the head of the stage. At the mid point, through Kilrush, it was evident that Sheffield was in no mood to surrender his race lead over 94.6 kilometers. Solid support from his Hot Tubes team enabled him to cross the line in the safety of the lead group who managed to break clear on the run in to the seaside town. Shay Donnelly of the Irish team edged clear to register the stage win which brought a smile to the spectators who were enjoying the benefits of sun, sand and sea in the seaside town.
Stage 3 (Thursday) is certainly one of the toughest, which includes a number of climbs including the climb at the Cliffs of Moher midway through the stage over 100 plus kilometers.
